'BRAKING' NEWS!!

Breaking news – when the term actually was first used it was meant to refer to news about some events which are as serious that its happening would have affected lives of a huge number of people. The events were mostly like wars or assassination of leaders or a great victory in sports, etc. The events were so important that it was required to be telecast immediately even at the cost of abandoning regular programmes or scheduled telecasts of other news bulletins.
Well, now the situation is quite different as we all know. Now you can be pretty sure to get at least one breaking news each day [I said 'at least'!!]. And you know what substance they contain?? some child has fallen in a manhole..some designer's wardrobe is malfunctioning..a bollywood star has sued her boyfriend..who has been the winner of the latest 'Reality show' on TV through SMS votes...Tell me does these news [so called breaking news] in any sense such serious that they fall into the breaking news category? Are these so serious that they will affect our life and bring it into a standstill? Well i suggest u media people to call it anything else [e.g News Flash] but not Breaking News. Yet you will find some breaking news flashing on the screen of your TV everytime you switch on a 24/7 news channel. Many of them are nothing more than a media hype or a gossip!! Still we people watch them...dont we?
